A vision of students today

October 29th, 2008 :: education, technology :: comment below

This isn’t new and doesn’t pretend to answer anything, but it’s got a solid, haunting quality and certainly gives you something to think about. Does information overload scare students today? Are too many things competing for their attention? Will their education deliver what they expect?

I know what I’m doing right now can be ovewhelming at times.

    That is a fantastic clip from Wesch. You might be interested in reading follow up post he wrote (October 21) about that video http://mediatedcultures.net/ksudigg/?p=188. While acknowledging the pessimistic tone, Wesch moves the conversation forward and calls for a radical transformation in traditional classroom teaching practice.
