About
This is my online home, where I frequently play with web designey things, write the odd thing and toy with WordPress, which is what this site is built on. Think of it as sort of the digital dashboard of my life.
An higher education web professional
At their core, I believe that good user experiences are all about well-designed interactions. Good design of any kind helps people solve problems, communicate, share and learn. In my work, I primarily focus on information design, user experiences and collaborative web technologies. I’m more interested in the connections and interactions that occur through interactive technology than in the technology itself.
What I do usually falls into one or more of the following areas:
- analysis and research
- collaborative software implementation
- user experience strategy and design
- project management
An (inter) active geek
Occasionally, I’ll write race reports and journal some of the trials and tribulations I encounter as I try to keep fitness on the front burner of life. I love running and have completed many races from 5km to marathon distances, with a few short course and Olympic distance triathlons thrown in for good measure. I often mull over Ironman triathlons and ultra distance trail races, but haven’t gone there (yet). That is well likely to change at some point.
