I’m back

It’s been a while. In fact, it’s been nearly six months since I wrote a journal post of any kind. At the beginning of the year, I noted that I wanted to begin a daily practice of journaling. My success there, as with many of the things I mentioned, kinda went to hell in a handbasket. A very large portion of the past eight months has completely consumed us with the process of selling our townhouse and buying a Kitsilano condo.

Progressing to Simple

The first major step to simplicity and a more minimalistic lifestyle is well under way. I know the end result will be worth it, but purging, disposing of and selling stuff, along with downsizing homes (and the inherent selling and buying process) feels anything but simple.

Tepid

Leftover Christmas mucus lingered throughout January. February saw a nasty injury and sinus infection flare up. Health is once again returning. Can it just stick around for a while now please?

A Good Start to 2017

The biggest problem with deciding you want to make some significant change is the dilemma between just trying to do it all, or to prioritize and discern. I started with the former, but over the past two months I’ve had to move toward the latter. So, in no particular order, just a recap of January for my records. In summary, things are moving in the right direction on all fronts, some more quickly than others. I’m focusing on self-improvement, reading and writing more, small health issues are resolving and the bike and run is on track.

Baby Steps

A while ago, I decided I wanted to focus more on creative pursuits; notably reading, regular journal writing, re-engaging with drumming and music, sketching, visual art, and the like. I’m definitely making progress … No matter what, it’s all a matter of baby steps.
